Well its kind of sad when you read about a story of someone burning down a radio station and it's not that surprising.

Erin. i completely agree. The irony of that sitatyion is classic. A man's playlist named " Mellow Down Easy" burns down the radio station because he did not get his way over somthing so simple as a playlist. He really needs to mellow out. I'm sure he will have plenty of time to calm down while he is in jail. This further confirms my beleive of never underestimate a person's abilities when they are passionate over something.

I too remember searching through the card catalog for what ever book I was seeking while I was in school. Trying to find a book but you could only look it up by subject and go through all those little cards until you found it.

After graduating high school in the late 80's I didn’t do much research or have the need check out books for that matter, so the library was a place I didn’t visit too often. The last time I was in a library before I returned to college 10 years later was in my twelfth grade class in a private school. If searching was changing then or during the years of my absence I had no idea.

Obviously it had changed and boy was it odd for me. Being older watching everyone search with ease was somewhat embarrassing. Until I took LIB 101 I didn’t have a clue what a database was. Sounds pathetic huh? Since then I feel more comfortable with a library and searching and this class has helped even more. Most of what I am learning makes sense, some I am still working on but I'm not worrying because one day I will get it. But then of course, newer ways to search will pop out then!

I agree with you 100%. I was lost, but now i am found! I can actually go on the internet and use our libraries homepage easily. I know where to go, what to do, how to do it and much much more! I am learning so much about what used to seem so simple. It is alot more difficult than it looks. Or maybe it is alot more simple than it was ever difficult because i learned how to operate the database searches and catalog searches.
